Farming Simulator 2013 - Sheep (TUTORIAL)

Feed and look after the sheep in Farming Simulator 2013 is very easy. To feed and grow sheep we only need grass. This simple guide with pictures will show you how to feed then and make them happy.
If you buy sheep in game and don't feed them with grass you will get only 5% productivity.
To get 100% productivity you need to feed your sheep in game only with grass.  From sheep in game we get wool to sell.

You can find more information on how to grow and mow the grass in my older tutorial.
Farming Simulator 2013 - feeding cows

Let's begin with - where to find your sheep in game.
If you look at your PDA you will find a sheep icon on it. That's where your sheep can be found after you buy them in game shop. Your sheep will never die in game after you buy them so you can sell them if you decide that growing sheep is boring.

Click on picture to make it larger.
Where to find sheep and cow
Sheep and Cow location

I bout 10 sheep just to make this tutorial. This tutorial only shows you basics how to feed your sheep and what to do to get started with your sheep farm.
I bought a grass mower Amazone Profihopper to feed my sheep and I don't need mower and loading wagon. But if you want you can buy loading wagon and mower to feed sheep.

Sheep - Feeding

Mow the grass with Amazone Profihopper and unload grass at sheep feeding  place.
Amazone Profihopper

Sheep in FS 2013 produce wool. Place where you can sell wool marked as a ball of yarn on your PDA.
You can find a place where to sell wool If you look in the above image of PDA (sheep and cow location).

Sheep - Selling Wool

More sheep = faster production of wool = more grass you need to keep your seep at 100% productivity.

To do wool selling easy in FS 2013 we will need to buy machinery.
  1. Any Tractor
  2. Any Fork Lifter with Pallet Fork
  3. Bale Trailer

Taking sheep wool pallet from spawn place.

If you are good with fork lifter you can place 10 wool pallets on the bale trailer. (I'm not that good as you can see in screenshot below)
You can place 10 sheep wool pallets on the bale trailer
So close...
To sell sheep wool at selling place you just need to drive in to this yellow rectangle (sheep wool selling area).

Congratulation ! Now you know how to feed your sheep and what to do with your sheep wool pallets in
Farming Simulator 2013.

Farming Simulator 2013 - Mixed Ratio (TUTORIAL)

In this tutorial I will explain you how to feed cows in game with mixed ratio. To make mixer ratio in game we will have to make hay and straw square bales and mix them with silage. You can find more information on how to make silage, straw and grass in my feeding cows tutorial Farming Simulator 2013 - Feeding Cows and my sheep tutorial if you interested to grow sheep in game Farming Simulator 2013 - Feeding Sheep

Finally I found some free time to play Farming Simulator 2013 again and I can now finish my tutorial how to feed cows with mixed ration in Farming Simulator 2013.

To make square bales I will be using Krone Big Pack 1290 Square Baler. To collect, stack and move square bales in game I will be using  Arcusin Autostack FS 63-72.

Farming Simulator 2013 - Feeding Cows (TUTORIAL)

This tutorial is about feeding your game cows in Farming Simulator 2013 and how to make your cows in game happy. In this tutorial you can find how to feed your cows in game with all possible feeding methods, starting with how to feed cows with Grass, then moving to more advanced feeding - feeding game cows with Straw, we will be making Silage in silo bunker from Grass and Chaff and feeding it to cows in game, and in last part we will be feeding cows with Mixed Ratio

We start this from easy feeding steps first and then we move to harder ones like mixing ratio with
Kuhn Profile 1880 or even with Kuhn SPV Confort 12

Basic information about game what goes where and where to find your cattle.

Question: Where I can find my cattle farm ?
Answer: If you look at the screenshot above in PDA you can find icon with cow picture that's where you need to go/drive to find your cattle farm.

I play all games on hard mode and without cheating. Farming Simulator 2013 is not a exception. All items you see in game screenshots is earned with "hard work". I never played any farming simulator games before this is my first one. Also this is my first tutorial and I hope you will like it. Enjoy and thank you for reading.

If you find this tutorial helpful please share to your friends. If you want me to add something - leave a comment and I will add information to this tutorial.

Feeding Cows - STRAW

You get straw after you harvest wheat or barley. By feeding straw to cows in game we will get free manure to fertilize fields. To feed straw to your cows in game we need to buy some equipment:
  1. Any Front Loader with Bale Fork - necessary
  2. Krone Comprima V 180 Round Baler - necessary
  3. Bale Transporter - optional
  4. Kuhn Primor 3570 M - necessary
Minimum money you need to buy basic equipment in game is about - $ 164,000

 Feeding Cows - GRASS

In my opinion feeding cows with grass is easiest process from all others. By feeding grass to cows in game we will get free liquid manure to fertilize fields. To feed cows with grass we will need:
  1. Any Sowing Machine - necessary
  2. Any Mower - necessary
  3. Any Loading Wagon - necessary
Minimum money you will need to invest is about $ 99,000

NOTICE: It's possible to feed cows with grass by using Amazone Profihopper, it's much cheaper then any loading wagon or mower, it costs only $ 3,500 You can start  feeding your cows with it and buy loading wagon and mower later.

 Feeding Cows - SILAGE

We done with easy feeding. Feeding cows with silage is first step to more complex game mechanics. In this tutorial we will be using Kuhn Profile 1880 but it also can be done with Kuhn SPV Confort 12. Also this tutorial have two part. In part one we will be making silage from grass and chaff, and in part two we will feed silage to cows in game.

In this tutorial I will be calling fermented silo as silage because that's how it is named in game
PDA > Statistics  > cows information window.

Part 1 - Making Silage
We can make silage from:
  1. Grass
  2. Chaff (can be made easy from grass or corn with Krone Big X 1000 Forage Harvester)
Moving grass tools and loading wagon will cost you about $ 99,000 of game money. To make chaff from grass with Krone Big X 1000 Forage Harvester and Krone XDisc Direct Cutting System will cost you $ 415,000 of game money.

I assume that you already know how to mow grass and load grass to loading wagon in this game.

Unloading chaff to bunker

To make silage we need to fill the bunker at least for 10% with grass or chaff or mix of chaff and grass.
Fill the bunker at least for 10%
now we have to compact to 100%
We have to compact to 100%
To compact the silo you have to drive over the unloaded chaff/grass (silo) with any tractor.

When you compact silo to 100% you get the option "Blanket silo".

After you blanket your silo you will have to wait till it gets fermented to 100%
Fermenting chaff or grass

NOTICE: Fermenting process IS NOT EFFECTED by game speed. I'm not sure about time you have to wait till your silo gets fermented to silage. I think it took me about 30-45 minutes in real time.

Part 2 - feeding cows with Silage
Firs lets see what tools we will be using to feed cows with silage in game.
  1. Any Front Loader with Silage Fork - necessary
  2. Kuhn Profile 1880 - necessary
  3. Any Tractor - necessary
I'm sure you have a tractor so you will need about $ 70,000 of game money to start feeding cows with silage.

After fermenting silo to silage is completed we can feed your hungry cows in game. You will notice that your silo got darker and white blanket is gone - that's how you know when you have a silage.
Farming Simulator 2013 - Silage

To load silage with front loader you have to attach silage fork first.

How to install and run the d2gs under linux with wine:

This was taken from internet. I really  can't remember which page was that because I had this post in my draft for a long time. I hope this will help some one in the future :)

Server howtos:

Howto install and run the d2gs under linux with wine:

by jules 10.10.2002

Introduction

Requirements

Installing wine on a linux machine

Configuring wine

Installing the d2gs on your linuxserver

Running d2gs with wine

INTRODUCTION:

If you want to setup a Linux PvPGN server with Diablo II Closed Realms support you will need the Diablo II gameserver package installed. The biggest problem with the d2gs is that there is no -nix port, so it can only be run on win32 machines. That is not good because you need a second server machine with some windows installed.

BUT...

There is this windows emulator called wine... (Wine is no emulator). With this program installed on your dedicated linux server machine you are able to run the d2gs on linux! It's not a perfect solution but you can save one shitty windows machine.

REQUIREMENTS:

All you need is 1 linux machine with tcp connection. (I prefer DEBIAN!) It can be your gateway machine too, but notice that the d2gs needs alot of RAM and CPU to run! I recommend to run d2gs with wine never on a machine with less than 64MB of RAM and 300Mhz CPU. I think it doesn't run on a machine with less than 64MB of RAM. 500Mhz CPU and 128MB RAM should be enough to serve some games. I'm running PvPGN + d2gs with wine on a machine with 500mhz and 64mb of ram and never had problems...

You need a working x-server installed + running on the server!!! D2gs will not run with wine without any X installed! You can try vnc or other programs to export the display to a windows machine but I don't have experience with that so don't even bother...

A copy of Diablo II LoD + latest patch is also required...

INSTALLING WINE ON A LINUX MACHINE:

First you should install wine on your linux machine:

On DEBIAN machines:

# apt-get install wine

On all other linux distributions:

Download the latest wine from http://winehq.com. It should be the wine-yearmonthday.tar.gz file you download. If you are familiar with rpm you can try the .rpm file.

Unpack and install it with the commands:

tar xfvz Wine-20021007.tar.gz
cd wine-20021007
./configure
make
make install

There shouldn't be any problems with compiling wine...If you get errors post them in my forum...

CONFIGURING WINE:

Every user has his own config file for wine. It should be located in /yourhomedir/.wine/ .

If this directory or file doesn't exist don't worry. Create the directory and copy the config file from ./wine-20021007/documentation/samples into it.

Now create the directory c in your systems root

# mkdir /c

Create a directory called "windows" and in "windows" a directory called "system". This will be your "fake windows".

# mkdir /c/windows
# mkdir /c/windows/system

Now run $ wine -v. If your wine works it should display your wine-version. If it doesn't you did something wrong...

Download this file and copy it to /yourhomedir/.wine/ . (If you have a working wine registry [system.reg] don't overwrite it with mine! Just append it...) This is your "faked" windows registry. The registry entries needed to run the d2gs where entered by me into this file.

INSTALLING THE D2GS

Now you must have a "clean" Diablo II LoD 1.09d available.

Install it on a windows machine (you can try to install it with wine ) and copy all .mpq + all .dll files from the Diablo II directory to a directory on your linuxserver.

Now download d2gs-109d-beta6.zip (be careful! beta7 never worked with wine on my server!)

Unzip it to the directory where you copied the Diablo II files (the file d2gs.exe from the archive has to be in the Diablo II directory!)

Open the file /yourhomedir/.wine/system.reg in your favorite editor. Change the entries "D2CSIP" and "D2DBSIP" so that it fits for your setup. (Enter the IP where your PVPGN with D2CS and D2DBS are running on! Enter an IP, even it runs on localhost!)

Thats all!

RUNNING D2GS WITH WINE

Start d2cs and d2dbs on the pvpgn server machine before you start d2gs.exe with wine and make sure your d2cs and d2dbs are configured right!)

Now run d2gs.exe with wine

$ wine d2gs.exe &
and hope that no "wine debugger" or any other shit is appearing. Be sure you have write access on the d2gs directory and your X-server is running!

Wait a little while. After 1 minute it should be connected to D2CS and D2DBS. Then type "ps -A" and look if wine is running with more than 1 process (on my server it needs 10! processes).

Now try to connect to the "d2gs administration" console with telnet on port 8888

$ telnet localhost 8888
Something like the following should come back. If this works you are a really lucky guy.

Diablo II Close Game Server Administration Console
Win32 Version 1.09 beta6, build on Jan 7 2002 10:30:42

congrats, your d2gs server is working!

If no echo comes back your d2gs is not working. Check the log files in your d2gs directory (d2gs.log, d2ge.log, d2gssvc.log, D2blahblah.txt) and post your problem into my forum.

Login passwd for the "admin console" is abcd123.
Change it with the console command passwd

Log into the console and type status
The 2 important things are Connection to D2CS: and Connection to D2DBS: If they are connected you are ready!
Type help to view more options that are available...
Try to connect to your pvpgn server with Diablo II LoD 1.09d.

If they aren't connected check you configuration (d2cs.conf, d2dbs.conf, the wine registry).

More coming soon!

Much fun!
